legitimate piracy (old school)

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

legitimate piracy (old school)

Was Captain Kidd (1945 movie) justified in doing all he did to get peerage?

I say yes. When born into a tiered system that unfairly prevents you from getting access to the best of society through legitimate means you're entitled to use any means necessary to subvert that system. Whether on behalf of humanity or for your own selfish whims is immaterial. The system deserves to be subverted and doing so is a prima facae ethical positive.

every criminal is justified in their mind

vengeance against every criminal is justified in the minds of victims...

who wins? the one with the more lethal weapon.
