Can love be rediscovered?
Is it possible to fall in love with somebody again?
It could be someone you've been with for years, the feelings have wained over the years, only to be rediscovered? Or someone you fell out of love with, only to rediscover you can love them again?
I'm wondering that once you know/have known something, can you rediscover it? Or does it have to change to the point you are actually falling in love with something other than what you were originally in love with?
Is it you that has to change?

Re: Can love be rediscovered?
You never change.
- States of consciousness change.
- Love is a state of consciousness.
- A state of consciousness is a way of being.
- Action follows from being.

Ok, Walker, so am I to understand from what you have written, if change occurs, it's possible to rediscover love? (This is assuming that the change is not so significant that everything has changed, so some of what held your original love is still there.)
"You can never change", but your perception can. If your perception of an original situation changes, can love be restored?
You've simply described states without answering any of the questions.

I simply began the dialogue.
Later.

You usually fall 'out of love' with someone for a reason, so the likelihood of falling back in love with them is slim at best. You could of course rekindle feelings that never really died, but that's not the same as falling out of love and back in again.

What I'm saying is that you can't fall in love again because the former you is gone.ForCruxSake wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 1:30 pmAnd if you're perception changes?Philosophy Explorer wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 12:52 pmBut if you change, you're a new person.ForCruxSake wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 12:47 pm

How do you recover the past? You're constantly changing.ForCruxSake wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 1:34 pmBut "you can never change" according to Walker...Philosophy Explorer wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 1:32 pmWhat I'm saying is that you can't fall in love again because the former you is gone.

Sure, all your permutations above are possible. Which are true for you and him/her are up to you two to understand, or not! Not that it makes much difference in this instance, as the next instance might be something completely different.ForCruxSake wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 9:40 am Is it possible to fall in love with somebody again?

Not at all true! In fact you are not the same set of trillions of cells that you were at birth, in fact they/you have changed many times over. I suggest you study science, particularly biology!

Re: Can love be rediscovered?
Well, there's different takes on this. On the one hand, there's the Heraclitean stance PhilX and Spheres appear to be taking, that you can never step into the same river twice, because the body of water that comprises it is in constant flux. The result of which is that you are not the same person as you were at the beginning of this sentence. Then there's Descartes' analogy of the piece of wax, according to which, you can change your shape, but your essential waxiness remains. Which perhaps is closer to Walker's point of view. Somewhere in the middle, is the Ship of Theseus. The crux of which is that if you change a nail on a ship, is it the same ship? Another nail? A plank? All the nails? All the planks? Yer pays yer money and takes yer choice.Philosophy Explorer wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 1:32 pmHow do you recover the past? You're constantly changing.

And what of love? If anyone can provide a definition that everyone agrees with, as something that itself doesn't change over time, perhaps then we might work out whether it is something that can be lost and found.
Re: Can love be rediscovered?
A state of consciousness is the interface that detects reality for awareness to perceive.
- The love state of consciousness is the default human condition.
Why?
- Love resonates with life, so that life goes on.
Other states of consciousness are also accessible to humans, as we all know.
- However, love is the effortless default and thus the most powerful, because it tunes into the pulse frequency of all life.

You are the body and the body changes, but you are not this body exclusively.SpheresOfBalance wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 2:04 pmWalker wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2017 12:19 pm You never change.
