All so-called political parties are merely affiliations.

The only type of political organization that can be properly called a "party" is one in which all political candidates are appointed by party headquarters and all party office holders follow in lock-step with headquarter decisions. An example would be the proposed AEP.

But Reverend Bob, that's how totalitarian regimes operate. You're not a fascist or communist, are you?

I'm not talking about non-democratic, totalitarian, despotic and tyrannical governments, I'm talking about the difference between political affiliations and political parties.
