You always seem to be talking about something other than the thing you originally said when it suits you. Maybe you should write more clearly in future.

I should have thanked you for providing a text book example of "moving the goalposts" though.

This news report just came in -- and please don't tell me that soccer fans and players aren't completely nuts!!!

Associated Press
Angry soccer fans take pro match hostage. A small group of Genoa ultras put on an incredible display of fan power during Sunday's match against Siena. After Siena took a 4-0 lead over relegation-threatened Genoa early in the second half, the ultras began their protest and essentially held the match hostage. Poor play by Genoa prompts supporters to disrupt the game and make an unusual demand. Genoa captain Marco Rossi collects his teammates' shirts to hand over. Players in tears.

John has brought forward more evidence and yet you put extra conditions on your stance re no riots.

 Excellent observation!

Yet, depending on additional circumstances, you don't seem too concerned about putting yourself in what you see as a riot situation  - in the company of a football fan  , despite one of your other generalisations that football fans are

I would of course extend the invite to John so we can enlighten you on the tactical aspects of the game - the demo'ing the offside rule works better with three, people or pints :) . I may also be good and refrain from comparing rugby football :) with American football.

After this year's Super Bowl, radio talk show with former police commissioner discuss the increasing violence and rioting of American football fans before, during - including within stadiums - and after American football games. They also say they don't see this reflected in baseball games.

Just thought I should put a bit of effort in as John has done all the legwork so far  .

You seriously think I'd attend anything with the mad "prophet"?

Aw, I'm disappointed...oh right, you don't mean me . I wouldn't subject my team to such views as Bob's but I find it funny that he would contemplate it for whatever his other reasons may be - not going to happen!
Why mad 'prophet' or do I really not want to know?

He thinks he's a prophet and he's mad, it's as simple as that.

However, if you're not convinced then you should at least know that Bob's idea of the perfect date is "a cheap girl, some cheap beer, a cheap motel room, and play Ouzo and read the book of Revelation". He's a real charmer I'm sure.

John, are you saying that I'm not a prophet? I don't expect anybody to accept my claim based on mere words. But doesn't a series of mystical events, each having a statistical probability of close to zero, lend credence to it? For instance, I made a discovery related to the book of Revelation in twenty minutes that thousands of people couldn't accomplish in more than 170 years (http://church-of-ouzo.com/pdf/public-library-of-cincinnati.pdf). Besides me, the only other person on Earth who not only understands, but is blown away by "The Ouzo Prophecy," represented an organization whose raison d'être is to attack ideas like mine (http://church-of-ouzo.com/pdf/spiritual-counterfeits.pdf). I could go on and on, my friend, but the point is that if you take something with less than one chance in a million of happening, times something else with less than one chance in a million of happening, times something else with less than one chance in a million of happening, you finally wind up with a probability that is less than one grain of sand in the Sahara desert.

Yes and we've been over it enough times I think.

Obviously you're not a student of statistical probability, my friend.

I have actually but I'm also ware of how many fruitcakes see patterns where there are none and attribute seemingly low probability random acts to proof of divine guidance.

Let's put it this way: if you were a prophet it would be impossible to distinguish you from all the false prophets and lunatics because your claims take the same form so how would we tell?

That last question was rhetorical by the way.

It is clear that the two mystical events I mentioned are entirely unlike those of a false prophet, and, in fact, "The Ouzo Prophecy" (Deleted link due to sheer boredom of the amount of times this link appears across the forum) cautions against false prophets and their manipulation of our minds.(Amod cautions that we've got enough links to your pdf and in future just use the title)
