Neuroplasticity/Neuropeptides

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Neuroplasticity/Neuropeptides

Post by zexwiththeuniverse »

It is not the mind state alone that changes neuropeptides effects on neuroreceptors, but mind state combined with positive or negative thoughts. Using the reaction formation one could initially think good thoughts during an anxiety, fear, or other state in which one would otherwise be negative leading the neuropeptides that feed the receptor sites to connect those negative moods to be associated with positive thought. One could eventually dictate happy thoughts for a state of anxiety, fear or an altered negative mood.Meaning that when one feels angry, sad, anxious,or fearful without any use of the reaction formation one would think bad thoughts leading to the development of more neuroreceptor sites associating those states with negative thinking. One could reverse this and alter it if when one is feeling angry, sad, anxious, or fearful if one used the reaction formation to think happy, wholesome, joyful, wonderful thoughts during these states. Then when ever one felt like this the severity of the symptoms and the relation of one's thoughts would switch from a more negative experience to a more positive experience.

So how would one go about not feeling anything, if one were so inclined?
