Is it better that it be a boy than a girl victimized?

Anything to do with gender and the status of women and men.

Is it better that it be a boy than a girl victimized?

I’ve noticed time and time again that when the male pedophiles’ victims are boys, they’re referred to by the news-media with an obviously deliberate intent to avoid identifying their male gender. Why? Contrarily, however, that same news-media, perhaps as a practice policy, clarify in their news reports on men who are convicted of child sex offenders that their victims were girls? Why? Is it to make crystal clear that they’re heterosexually-inclined pedophiles and, most importantly, they therefore cannot possibly be homosexually-inclined pedophiles? Or is it perhaps to imply that the child sex crime is somehow worse and the story is of greater significance simply because the victims are girls?
I recall reading with clarity a quote in a metro-daily newspaper by a feminist activist that such young male sexual-assault victims can, in some manner, fend for themselves. She said that, “Well, they are boys, and boys are basically little men.” Though, to be fair, her mentality is but a smaller indicator of the larger twisted thinking out there.
