When did feminism start?

The author says about 2,500 years ago. Since history only goes back so far, how can we tell for sure? And it wasn't a straight path from now to today and it isn't 100% global either. And shouldn't you be female to be a feminist?

More like 25,000. Look to the beginning of agriculture for the story of that apple Adam still pretends to have been forced into eating.
