A prestigious medical journal will retract a scientific paper from Chinese surgeons about liver transplantation after serious concerns were raised that the organs used in the study had come from executed prisoners of conscience.

Prisoner of Conscience
"Most often associated with the human rights organisation Amnesty International, the term can refer to anyone imprisoned because of their race, sexual orientation, religion, or political views. It also refers to those who have been imprisoned and/or persecuted for the non-violent expression of their conscientiously held beliefs"
TO the altruist, no doubt people should not be persecuted for their race. Tolerated re sexual orientation, within limits. Tolerated for their religion, if it is at least not violent, or repressive. The same regarding political views.
The assumption is that China is a highly repressive country, and not remotely democratic, let alone an altruist democracy.
That Britain should be getting into bed with it, is rather repugnant.

China is one of the 5 recognized communist nations that are officially recognized in the world today in 2017.

Not so much that Britain has gotten into bed with communism, it's that capitalism has, long ago, gotten into bed with communism.

ALL nations, in our world, are capitalist. Capitalism & communism are fucking like mad in a world-wide commune that you & I are intimately and inseparately woven into.

Governments are a reflection of it's people. The repugnance that you refer to is fostered & found solely within you & I.

If any organs are harvested from viable persons the donor must be in a position or power such that she can give free and full permission to harvest the organ. Clearly no detainees of any sort have power to give this permission.

Detainees are deprived of their liberty and it follows that the captors are in a position of power. The ethic involved is that power is morally and ethically inseparable from care. Captors are obliged by international law to treat detainees with care as to their human rights.

We are all prisoners of consciousness.

For some, time can be easy.

For most, time is hard.
