Pragmatic Egalitarian Responsibility or Altruism
No perfect society is likely to exist other than those defined in terms of the banal and absurd.
A great part of ethics therefore concerns how society deals pragmatically with imperfection.
Altruist society is that in which people are equally responsible.
It is impossible for people simply to be equal. People as sapient beings are the end product of values, and a single value is merely a question waiting to be answered. A complementary value is required.
An altruist is equal to another, only in fulfilling his responsibilities, within his capacity to do so. In concern and respect for others, according to their nature. Those who signally fail in this are not responsible to society and must be treated accordingly, but altruistically.
Altruism is not universalised self-sacrifice but the employment of self-sacrifice where the case requires. This may be the common situation in which a person has to risk his own life for the sake of others. There will also be situations in which altruistic self-denial is required for the immediate benefit of a person, or body, in pursuit of the continuance and survival of altruist society.
Everyone in altruist society will have rights and responsibilities accorded them to suit their nature, maturity, and capacity.
