Contrasting Viewpoints
There is 'no such thing as society', is better stated as, 'society is simply an aggregate of individuals' and that is a tendentious statement by a person who has already decided what kind of society he supports..
Where society is Anarchistic or individualistic, everything will be interpreted accordingly. Thus society is the sum of individual need. Commerce will tend to be personally owned, with its overall needs as the sum of individual industries and companies profitability and expansion. Charity, if it exists, that of the Good Samaritan giving alms to another who is in present need. Altruism, will be interpreted as self-sacrifice. While authoritarianism and tyranny is a state or government in excess.
Where society is Authoritarian, it is realized that stable society must be under the rule of wise men, or Plato's philosopher kings. The alternative is populist babble, or even indifference to the ordained order. While altruism is seen as impractical idealism.
Altruist society will see itself as a condition of universal mutual benefit, rather than universalised self-sacrifice. An holistic society, as the sum of mutual need in time and place. Individualistic society as short term self interest. Authoritarianism as irrational mythology justified by philosophy, as opposed to rational religiosity.
Each form of society expressing itself in similar words but to contradictory purpose. Simple terms are created or hijacked and transformed into complex philosophies for the sake of a tendentious few, as if no other meanings are conceivable.
Capitalism versus Socialism: "An economic system based on private capital and profit making." v. the community doing so. Essentially capitalism need mean only the employment of capital goods. The ownership, management, profits, and purpose may be made to suit any form of society. Ownership, itself a problematic term. may involved the state, communities, charities, non-profit organisations, or individuals and groups. As with the railways there may be franchises or leases. Individuals may indeed make a profit but will inevitably be overseen at some level of governmental or social control and law. The output and its social purpose is also quite variable. Altruist, Anarchistic, Elitist.

I was writing things trying to show you how wrong you are, I reached a point where there were so many mistakes in each single sentence, that I couldn't keep correting it. So I erased what I wrote when I realized that I was talking with a dog with the hability to write inconexe words.
