Maybe it was some synthesized sound. With Sting, the gentleman in New York, every time he says the word “alien” the alien sound is in the background. It could be mistaken for the water drop sound, which can be found on youtube, of course. But the organic water drop sound is clearer. It’s the clarity that makes it startling. Perhaps Sting’s lyrics intended the sound of an alien moving about, rather than speaking.
The "bloop" sound sounds like a keyboard that plays all the upbeats of the passage, including under the lyric "alien".

Mahavishnu. A hopeful name for times of war.

Bloop, Perfect!

Joe Sample - piano solo is worth the price of admission.

Bloop, Perfect![/quote]
The texture of the sound reminds me of the "bloops" made by Penny's alien pet, "Debbie the bloop" in Lost in Space (aka a chimp with funny ears stuck on).

That Harry's House track is a cracker. I don't tend to listen to lyrics, though; music is largely visceral for me.

Other than my website: http://www.theultimateseeds.com, the only thing I have online at the moment (on YT) is a couple of episodes from a video lecture series I created in the 90s that aired on my city’s public access television station from 93 to 2000.

You wouldn’t like it because it is a presentation of my panentheistic view of reality where I use the words “God” and “Him” quite often :P. However, if you would like to put a face (as of around 20 years ago) to my screen jabber, then here’s the link - http://www.youtube.com/TheUltimateSeeds.

I did create a lot of original music in my 16 track studio back in the 80s (my main instrument is lead guitar), but I made the mistake of trying to do all of the instruments and vocals myself (not drums – where were you when I needed you) and was never quite satisfied with the outcome.

Furthermore, the more time and effort I put into recording other musician’s songs via the studio work, the less enthusiasm I had for doing my own stuff.

Most of my creative juices went into the above mentioned lecture videos, and later into a self-published 285 page book (with approximately 120 original illustrations) as presented on the website.

This is probably more information than you bargained for, but nowadays I occasionally get together to jam with 3 old farts like myself who attempt to cover anything from the Allman Brothers (I love playing Dickey Betts’ style of major scale riffs), to ZZ Top, Santana, Van Morrison, Eagles, Vince Gill, or anything else we can butcher. :D

I enjoyed your YT videos, Greta (and the acid flashbacks ), along with the chance to put a face to your screen jabber.

Your lead vocalist, btw, has a nice voice, especially on the Cream song (for a minute there, I thought Jack Bruce was in the house).

Yes, that "he" and "him" malarkey really gets my goat ;)

Well done with your vids and website - that's a ton of work in conception, organisation and execution and I can see how that would dominate your creative energies. Fun to put a face to the jabber. I don't think too many of us look like typical pillows of society.

I am also interested in the concept of seeds and eggs and the processes leading to mature forms. It comes back to a faulty but useful concept - "the initial state". At this stage it seems like the DNA equivalent for the universe was the CMB, whose slightly warmer areas brought matter and the cools areas, voids.

You're not the first to say that Glenn sounds a lot like Jack Bruce at times in SOYL.

Guilty as charged with psychedelic music. I always loved it so most of my music is either raw, psychedelic, or both :)

Three old farts getting together to jam sounds like more fun than a barrel of monkeys, speaking as an old boiler.

TALES OF A SCORCHED EARTH (Smashing Pumpkins)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6oLnXnkCIk

Farewell goodnight last one out turn out the lights
And let me be, let me die inside
Let me know the way from of this world of hate in you
'Cause the die is cast and the bitch is back
And we're all dead yeah we're all dead
Inside the future of a shattered past
I lie just to be real, and I'd die just to feel
Why do the same old things keep on happening?
Because beyond my hopes there are no feelings

Bless the martyrs and kiss the kids
For knowing better, for knowing this
'Cause you're all whores and I'm a fag
And I've got no mother and I've got no dad
To save me the wasted, save me from myself
I lie just to be real, and I'd die just to feel
Why do the same old things keep on happening?
Because beyond my hopes there are no feelings

Everybody's lost just waiting to be found
Everyone's a thought just waiting to fade
So fuck it all 'cause I don't care
So what somehow somewhere we dared
To try to dare, to dare for a little more, yeah yeah
I lie to just to be real, and I'd die just to feel
Why do the same old things keep on happening?
Because beyond my hopes there are no reasons
