Are sexbots an intrusion in a relationship or an enhancement?

Post by Philosophy Explorer »

If you keep up with technology, sexbots (or sex robots) have been making inroads with society (they usually go for $5,000).

Where do you see us going with them? Will they be an established part of society? Will laws be passed giving them rights? Will marriages decline and divorces increase? Will love go up? Maybe you have your own series of questions and concerns (but a positive would be less disease). Should they be taxed?

Didn't you post this same thread several times before?

Imagine what those poor bots have to go through being mauled and slobbered over by creepy perverts all day and night. 'Bots unite'. Sexual abuse is sexual abuse no matter what your components are made of.

You would be the first creepy pervert to abuse these wonderful machines. Only you would come up with the idea of sexually abusing a machine! Is that what you would do with your love dolls?

No this thread wasn't posted before. Your argument is stupid anyway - haven't you heard of updates?

I came up with this did I? Actually it's all sexual abuse. No one asked the bots for consent. Do you think every perverted revoltingness that men fantasise about should be indulged and catered for? I bet you wet your pants every time a real woman acknowledges you, even if it's only to sell you condoms at the checkout for your prostitutes (extra small).

Your generalizations about men are false. I can add that women fantasize too. No one needs to ask the bots for consent as they don't have rights.

I bet you wet your pants every time you walk past a sex magazine like Playboy in a store (one of your fantasies).

Oh. Ok. That's why I'M the one who's always posting threads about sex and sex toys and telling everyone how 'excited' women get around me.
Your feet must be a holey mess by now.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. Don't you know how to enjoy life? And if you don't like the program, just change the channel.

I mean I worked at spencers and it's a little too kinky even for my blood. But no, I don't really have any moral problem with it. It's not much different than using any other sex toy. Robots have no capacity for consciousness, and I doubt they ever will within humanities existence, if even possible.

I can why they wouldn't want their partner using one. It's a bit freaky, maybe there would be some level of potential jealousy to consider. After all there are plenty of people who don't even want their partner to watch porn. But as long as both sides are cool with it.

I think your concerns are sound, but I don't think they're logically valid. I don't believe there's a thin line between indulging a fantasy and that person acting it out in reality. I think indulgence can desensitize you, but sexually and not in the sense you might imagine. There's usually an element of fiction added-into fantasies that just doesn't equate it to the real thing.

Plenty of people have rape fantasies, but that doesn't mean they actually want to be raped. They usually imagine it in a very coordinated, specific scenario where they may even imagine themselves enjoying it. How someone perceives something in a state of mind is different than how they perceive something in reality.

Is there a difference between using a device for sex and masturbation without a mechanical device? It is my understanding that most people (men and women) do it anyhow, and it is more likely that a woman will use a mechanical device or some foreign object, than a man.

Yes, doc, there is. If you use a mechanical device there is always a chance that your wife will find it, especially if it's a full size sex robot. I think you would be safer sticking to the masturbation.
