Hello Resha - don't know if this will impress anyone but...

Here's a phrase that impressed itself upon my mind when talking morals with DL (Greatest I Am):

Immorality is in the eye of the believer.
No idea where that came from but this morning, the 'eye' changed to 'I'.

Now thinking I should read up on Machiavelli and 'The Prince'.

He says of the Prince that 'carefully taking everything into account, he will discover that something which appears to be a virtue, if pursued, will end in his destruction; while some other thing which seems to be a vice, if pursued, will result in his safety and well-being' - 1984 edition, p53, from 'Reading Political Philosophy-Machiavelli to Mill' - Warburton,N et al. p61

Just noticed that this is in the 'Introduce Yourself' forum.

Do you think that what people choose to insert will give you an idea of who they are ? In my case, it is more where I am - previously ran scared of political philosohy but not ethics. Ethics is good !

So, what would you offer up...?

My signature might be the first thing I would offer up. But another favorite of mine ... a phrase of my own making ... is that 5 out of every 4 people don't understand statistics.

I'm Lutheran. Basically the answer to your question is yes, but I may need to qualify depending on how restrictively you interpret the "alone" part of the phrase.
