Hi all,

I'm looking forward to having a read of some of the great debates going on here, currently brainstorming for exciting new ideas to use in our programme at this summer's http://www.howthelightgetsin.org/ - the world's largest philosophy festival!

:?: Can you live stream the festival (like the Occupy Wall Street people do), or perhaps on a pay-per-view basis, for an old fart (who can't leave his dog) living in St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A.?

Can do better than that tbieter! Many of the debates and talks from our past festivals (both HowTheLightGetsIn: the philsophy festival, and Crunch: the art and music festival) are up on http://iai.tv to watch for free! Its a brilliant resource - if you have any favourite speakers of philsophers you can search by their name directly, or just browse our different themes. Would love to hear what you think.

What curious idea!
Is it a 'in a field' type of festival? How does Hay manage the extra people?

PS
Thanks for the link. I've just enjoyed the Polly Toynbee debate. I can't say I agreed with Chris Hamilton or that old fart (stage left), but thought the debate was interesting.
On reflection I thought Toynbee's thought about 'golden age -ism' was the right one; thinkers for 3000 years since the time of Hesiod have ALWAYS pointed to moral decline, and the old like nothing better that to berate the young about how badly they appear to them.
