It's nice to see some kenned faces here and meet some new ones which makes the effort to learn a new format well worth the effort. The occasion is that the other site cannot receive my posts and the owner doesn't seem to have got my three emails about the problem.

The people here are really passionate about philosophy, Belinda, so much so that the discussions can often descend into quite severe violence. Obviously, it's only virtual violence but it's still really entertaining. There's no Scott-like character here to step in with a sanctimonious lecture and a slap on the wrist so the combatants can really go for it. If you want to take part in a proper philosophical debate there are a few serious posters here as well, it's just that you have to be quick because there's always someone standing by to step in and put a stop to it. I hope you stay here, Belinda, because it would be really interesting to see if we can manage to drag you down to our level.

Well philosophy never reached Yorkshire so I just had to substitute it with something else. :)

And after all this time, you're still trying to post without effect? You are definitely persistent.

Hi Belinda. Yes, the owner is very occasional these days, more compelling projects, I expect.

I didn't know about the site's problem. I assumed your absence was due to life or choice. I love the notification system on this forum. Without it I'd miss a lot of responses.
