EOTH appears to be one of the great windbags - endless naive and biased blabbering on about nothing. Always feigning depth but when you scratch the surface there is precious little real substance; nothing is quite grounded. Break down all the words and his worldview is simply this:

Bad: women's rights, gays, transgenders, Muslims, liberals, media that is not Fox or Breitbart.
Good: Christians, guns, Fox, Breitbart, conservatives, subjugated women; queers, Muslims and liberals fought and destroyed.

The final upshot of each self-entitled dull soliloquy is that EOTH knows all, and all who disagree are foolish. Forums of course need not embrace such egotistical, self-entitled postmodernism. Each forum has a right to run as it chooses, not as some obsessive nitwit convinces himself.

I support gays, as people (never would punish them merely for that, would be absurd) and am consistently Trixie's chief defender, I'm certainly not the one covering his thinking up. I've also come out in defense of Muslims and Islamic philosophy multiple times, even the short time I've been here on this forum, I hold Ibn Khaldun is especially high esteem, easily one of the top 5 philosophers who ever lived.

I've also been a very long time supporter of checking out multiple news organizations, for the British members here, I check Skynews and BBC daily, but also go far belong that, going to a multiple of new sites, some Iranian, Indian, Chinese, and of course all the major liberal websites in the US.

I don't (usually, and certainly not here) sit in the categorization you insist I am in, beyond noting I oppose liberals, for I hate tyranny and injustice, or the intentional weakening of any people, so how can I but despise them? To that charge I proudly stand for, as for windbag.... and pretending to be a smarty, maybe. More likely the windbag.

You missed a violent storm however, of negative attributes you could declare me to be, but are too lazy and unfocused to notice. I'm narcissistic, VT rightly pointed out a egoist, Lacewing's general lambast against men that they are obsessed with their wee wee applies to me, etc etc. I'm a real individual, not some made up, prepacked silhouette of a unspeakable soul to be despised generically. I have real faults and am a little pissed when people don't bother to even notice them, preferring to slap some fake labels that don't even apply to me, on me.

None of that prohibits a philosopher, just adds to a complexity. Real thinkers are not conformists, they are.... odd. Heaven forbid I started fitting in one day, the spark of philosophy would clearly be gone in me. I can blend in by hiding attributes, but don't ever expect me to fit in. Part of being a good thinker still rests on knowing yourself, and expressiveness comes in exposing your unique character. Not everything is going to be beloved by all, and that's not always a indicator of vice, but of uniqueness. One examining their fundamental drives, and that of others isn't going to fit in as well after a long exploration. Just how it is. I encourage others to search out the philosopher of the internal and external world as well, and stop being such a misguided prude. You gotta balance your neural inhibitors with your transmitters, in order to get anything coherent in the mind, a pure drive to controlling others will get no one anywhere. Why the study of Ethics is so essential.

In this case, Trixie hurts no one, we learn from Trixie. A few are offended by Trixie, flee into the depths of space, but such fools flee at the site of anything strange. Reminds me of the case of Bluebeard during the Inquisition. He was a notorious madman, killed man, for sexual and sadistic reasons. It is one of the very few times I've ever read of a judiciary taken aback by it's honest commitment to not just finding the truth of a matter, but searching out how to reform someone if they really wanted it.... was when Bluebeard confessed and begged for them to find a cure for them. They were completely taken aback, and had no clue at first how to proceed. They spent years burning every aberration they came across, justifying it by saying if they really wanted help, they would help them. Well, this is one of the few cases of notorious evil that said he was willing, and they honestly didn't know what to do.

We shouldn't have a program of repression, chasing everyone we disagree with, in the realm of mere ideas. I get it, some ideas are really bad, like real pedophilia, or actually plotting clear violence against another person in a discussion, the kind reasonable possible to occur. You stop that stuff, you stop obvious criminal fraud, you stop spambots. But you gotta grapple daily with the real problems of philosophy, and the philosopher is haphazardlessly placed every era against cultures and larger motives he isn't going to much like.

I want to point out the very people everyone is most quick to denounce as hateful or bigoted, or prone to censorship, are the ones most typically allowing here. The ones swiftest to denounce, eliminate, and push aside those they disagree with are openly the most liberal and crying for a higher standard. Isn't that upside down, absolutely backwards, bizarre? Has the poles of the universe shifted, are we now living upside down? Or is it the case that the most controlling, domineering, manipulative souls always seek out the cover of authority and righteousness, and use it to declare their innocence, to slap everyone around and order their world as they see fit, out of some perverse impulse to smite and control? To use lies to twist vices into virtues, to claim their puss is the finest of wines, and that everyone must cheerfully drink?

I call bullshit. Absolute bullshit. I hope what I say wears heavy on your conscious, pops periodically up in your minds for weeks, months, and years to come. I hope it haunts you, and drags you to honesty, self examination and reform.

If there was a hint of content or philosophical thinking in your post then perhaps I might have remembered your latest torrent of self indulgent babble.

You and Trixie are obviously involved in an intense online mentally sexual S&M relationship: Trixie invites you to undermine her and you are always happy to oblige. It's good that you have found each other to meet each of your particular and unusual needs. Now all you need do is learn to undermine and humiliate Trixie with less self-righteous pompous prattle. It'll have more oomph that way, and it helpful to learn how to clearly convey ideas with few words.

I do not expect you to pay attention to my comments. It's not important, but it is interesting to see oblivious you are to the problem of other minds. Solipsist conservatives are seemingly a dime a dozen online.

I object. I am the superior svoloch. EOTH cannot be allowed to threaten my domain and surpass me. Now I am insulted.

Sclemiel is derived from a yiddish word. I am Christian both Russian and Armenian. My great great grand uncle was an archbishop in the Armenian church and also friendly with Helena Blavatsky the founder of theosophy which makes the word svoloch more appropriate for those who would find such a friendship offensive. I prefer my proper ranking as svoloch.

They are both great words

Funny that we argue. I've long never had much problem with theosophy or the Steiner thing. I would have loved to have attended a Steiner school and thought it a shame that the Steiner concepts - which certainly were about the whole person - went out of vogue due to the power of economic rationalism.

Simply, individuality is being replaced by "cellular" living, with much conformity and control and not so much creativity or originality (which will be the exclusive domain of specialists deemed by your Great Beast to be best equipped for such a task). Individual freedom remains, but the domains of freedom are always shrinking, becoming ever more subtle.

My lack of alarm about all this is not a condoning of the changes, just accepting "the things I cannot change", a serenity that is increasingly encouraged over the years by reduced energy levels and increased aches and pains.

But you don't accept them. They emotionally rule you. Freedom comes through emotional detachment. Psychological slavery is sustained through the pleasures of arguing attachments. Most prefer arguing to freedom.

Then again, I have seen you just about frothing at the mouth too at times, Nick. Such detachment is only an aim, probably not a practical reality in today's hyper-social and hyper-competitive world. You either fight and compete or you are trampled over by those with fewer scruples. Relative isolation seems the best bet, but it's difficult to achieve because society's tendrils search every peaceful nook and cranny within it to convert into profit.

I am virtually isolated from society and it is for me a wonderful place to be because the sense
of detachment it provides makes me a better person both psychologically and philosophically

I may not be long here - no better than that other place? - i noted my thread posted about me "Adding to a Wikipedia page about Jan Francis" - over in the Lounge last week (IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - why?

no clue. its as if it never happened! i never made that post, just imagined it.

no PM to me from Admin when I log in just a few minutes ago - not nuthin.

...........why no Private message to me from Admin about why he/she removed my thread which I posted in what I though was the best place - "the lounge" - again why removed? why did admin/s not show the civil respect (I'm a member (guest) here, as the host of this place to at the very least send me a private message as to why my thread was removed?

such a message would have offered goodwill and courtacy(sp) toward me as a member/guest - and taken what? a minute or 2 at most out of the admin/s time to compose.

.........

I don't know - it saddens me that his place (i.e. the Admins) tends to censor, and then lacks the simple common civility to send me a PM; in the interest in fostering a community here.

this place my not be as community friendly as I had hoped when i joined a few weeks ago. I may leave here if it is shown i was wrong about my hopes of this place.

peace.

Individual posts or entire threads can be deleted by the two mods here without explanation
The default position is to simply accept it and not complain about it as it serves no purpose
The mods here do not engage with the members less they really have to so just let them be

The tyrant is within. Adversity is a gift that deepens understanding. Loss is loss, here or there. Losing a posting is good practice to prepare you for losing what is precious to you. At first you grow bitter, then you grow wiser from the loss and the bitterness. Eventually, you will lose everything. But if you must fight and struggle and demand answers until then, do so without remorse, bigly as best as you can, until you must not, which will happen sooner or later. There are advantages to sooner.
