A I understand it, physics is the scientific expression of what takes place at the visible levels below Plato's divided line while metaphysics is the reality of the process of existence taking place at the intelligible levels above the divided line, The conscious unity of above and below is real "understanding" as opposed to just fantasy or opinion.
