Wittgenstein Picture theory

Post by Adornoable »

New to this forum so hope this is okay!

I'm struggling to grasp what Wittgenstein picture theory entails (Probably due to a different Language Game), for an exam. Can anyone explain it simply?

Also while we're here do you agree with his notion presented with picture/ Language games. I seem him as too relativist which leads to issues.

Thanks in advance.

Have you read this article in 'Philosophy Now' (the magazine who provide this website)?

This is about the early Wittgenstein of the 'Tractatus'. You gather that Wittgenstein himself came to see that there were problems with this idea? The later Wittgenstein of 'language games' takes a quite different approach, so you don't want to mix the two up.
