are there many more positives that make the world what it is and that the world is in a good condition?
Television, the radio, and the computer could be used to educate and and enlighten and make people more intelligent and more empathetic. Is our mediums doing a good job? Or does it only appeal to base primal negativities?

It is too narrow and too negative a focus. Most media is owned by large and powerful companies with their own agendas, interests and biases. Many have fossil fuel investments and we can see how that is panning out.

There are many programs in thelevision, in the radio, and internet.
There is porn, and documentarys, there is chopin, and reggaeton, there is twitter, and... ehm... I don't know, a small forgootten blog. You can do your own videos in youtube. Don't blame too much those who offer (by the way, spam is geting anoying, the last adds are "5cm/day", "30000$ at home/hour", etc).

Of course the brighter side to media is that it's filtered enough to prevent fear related havoc within society, but the dishonesty by shaming and favouritism is the main reason humanity cannot awaken
