Huh? You've misread or otherwise missed my point. Try again?

That policy would cetainly please those who like reading embarrassingly jejune crap. A moment's consideration, surreptitious, should persuade you that those are not the only people Rick and his team might wish to please.

Who's the illuminated soul who chooses what people should like to read, Sir?

Whether they are embarrassingly jejune crap is not actually relevant but what is though is why that thread was deleted
without notice. It is not about pleasing anyone but providing justification for an action that has still not been explained

Books that pleased those who liked reading embarrassingly jejune crap were burnt in Middle Ages.

I think we're one step ahead now. At least I hope so.

Whether they are embarrassingly jejune crap is not actually relevant ...

Allow me to correct your statement: Whether they are embarrassingly jejune crap is not actually relevant to the issue as you would wish it to be framed. However, it is relevant in frames that others, such as Rick himself, might wish to use.

[It is about] providing justification ...

I think the admin team reserves the right to delete material without providing public notice or justification. Would you wish to challenge their right to do that?

I would like who ever was responsible for deleting the thread to give their reason for doing so regardless of whether or not it is within
their rights. I realise however that I am not going to get an answer to this question so will not waste any more energy on it. I will how
ever make a mental note from now on that threads can be deleted anytime with no notice or explanation even when one is requested

Naturally you would.

"Threads can be deleted anytime with no notice or explanation even when one is requested"

It's worth printing that out and pinning it to the wall by your desk.

Mods delete threads periodically in order to make us better philosophers.

As you know, the sense of wonder is essential to stir in the soul of every true philosopher.

So, in their eternal wisdom, The PhilosophyNow forum moderators delete threads every so often just to stir that essential sense of wonder within us.

Creating continual panic & uncertainty within this community so that we are continually wondering what-the-fuck is really goin-on in here?

-ya know, just because trying to express deep intangible thoughts over a world-wide medium isn't tuff enough...

Who cares.

It's yesterdays news.

Lets not cry over split milk.

There's more where that came from.

It's the o in the cow.

As usual, I appreciate insights from Bill.

In fact, philosophically speaking, deleting entire threads in a row as erratically as possible, adds something to Hume.

Believing the existence of any thread at PhilosophyNow is human, but unjustifiable.

As usual, nice to see you Bill.

All 'mods' are not created equal. Some are self-righteous tossers who pursue petty vendettas.

I asked that but no one answered. I'm sure you will get an answer though. I can't remember what it was about. Nothing offensive I'm sure. I think PE was picking a fight as usual, which seemed to be about the time it disappeared.

Now we're two asking.

Maybe they'll feel pressed to answer at last and let's hope they won't delete it.

Reality is an illusion. All this can be nothing but Matrix.

Did that thread ever exist?

Maybe these people only tried a mixture of hallucinogenic drugs.

There's no substantial evidence for the thread expect for their [incoherent] testimonials.

Memory is tricky, and more so after hallucinogenic stuff.
