Yes folks. There is actually such a thing as a doughnut burger (yes, a sugar-laden doughnut) with coloured strings of sugar and chemicals sprinkled on top. Between two of these yummy sugary doughnuts is inserted a yummy meatette patti and other savoury delights. Mmmm. Meat sprinkled with sugar. Almost as tasty as chocolate bacon. Haute cuisine indeed.

Am I making you hungry?
Not me. You already bit into your creation.

You must be looking at that mirror again. And your OCD is showing.

You two at it again
I thought I read something somewhere t'other day about a dough ring filled with ice-cream...but can't find it now. Damn.
-----

Apparently - some neuroscientists at the Institute of Psychiatry in London scanned brains of people eating vanilla ice-cream. There was an immediate effect on parts of the brain known to activate when people enjoy themselves e.g. the orbitofrontal cortex.

So, one spoonful lights up the happy zone.

I truly believe this.

The research was carried out by Unilever, using Walls ice-cream...
...which it owns.

Another biased experiment we can safely disregard.

Ya think

but then again...
just cos it's biased doesn't mean it isn't true...

Wouldn't matter if it's true or not as you can't tell either way.

It so does matter.
If a spoonful of ice-cream can make the happy zone light up, just think what a whole tub will do

That's if until the next study (which isn't biased) says otherwise. And as VT would say, a whole tub would make you obese and may shorten your life span.

Gonna have to look into this more. Some serious comparative philo-neuro licking scenario...

Corrupting the purity of twinkies?
Now I’ve seen everything.
Why not just stuff it with bacon.

This is not progress, although it is different.

Americans have had bizarre food 'taste' for a long time. Perhaps that is what has caused the collective insanity (a chicken and egg scenario). Mixing peanut butter with jam and putting it in sandwiches for your children (when you bothered to do that sort of thing) was probably what started the whole downward spiral. Peanut butter is peanut butter, jam is jam, and never the twain shall meet.

I would say that VT (with her American OCD) is the one with bizarre food tastes. Her bit hamburger is an excellent example of this.

There are some things that it is better not to mention, this is one of them.
So, one spoonful lights up the happy zone.
I like this sentence very much, it somehow makes me feel optimistic.

I often mention unmenschables. How's your feet?

----

Hmmm, yes too good a sentence for me to have made up. I have the awful feeling some quotation marks ran off - crikey, I'm a plagiarist :?
See article ' How ice-cream tickles the brain' - by David Adam, the Guardian, 29/4/05 - where he quotes Don Darling of Unilever.

I wonder if he was inspired by Mary Poppins - she has a lot to answer for - with her spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down in a most delightful way. Sponsored by Tate and Lyle ?
