Well, I was thinking of spending less time on this forum.
It lasted longer than some of the resolutions I have made.

Yes, I made a resolution that I am not going to break any resolutions, again this year.

Happy New Year.

Using my new chess computer (a Christmas present, a version for young children, from a toy shop that went out of business) I hope to develop my playing skills and to find appropriate human opponents soon.

How about starting a chess section here ?
The moves could be open to discussion and comment.
Playing chess has a calming effect on the emotions, so some could really benefit.

AND:
Chess can provide instant feelings of achievement and reward.
Which is good for those prone to depression.

Sounds good to me, start a thread and give me the link, you're white so you go first.

Note, if you use the newer notation it might take me some time to translate to the "descriptive notation".
I would be familiar with the 1904 or 1946 version.

I don't know about that, my wife and I are always looking for printed calendars to put up and mark on. I refuse to have a smart phone or to use one.

My New Years resolution no 68 is to stop lusting over avocados. I'm thinking bananas might do the trick.
