That's right boob, patriotism is for idiots.
It's not patriotism, it's just a fact of life, get over it!
Technology is an evolutionary process. The Chinese invented rockets in the thirteenth century. Someone didn't just 'invent' a rocket to the moon, out of thin air. If anyone has a right to call themselves 'the greatest' country by sheer mind-boggling inventiveness it would be China. Of course, they never do. They aren't that crass and obnoxious.

Russia (USSR) was the next closest, so that means it's the 'second greatest' nation on earth.
There is no second greatest, you're all a bunch of slime!

This guy is a troll. There can be no people like that, he is laughing seeing how people believe that he is what he shows.

No, I'm Bob the Baptist, the new guru, the modern messiah, the wizard of Ouzo, and a divinely inspired prophet of all things spiritual, political and economic.

I wish that were true. Unfortunately there really are people like that, and they aren't all that uncommon. Although bob does occasionally redeem himself with some surprising views. Or, perhaps he's just a giant troll, as you say.

Really? When did the Chinese send someone to the moon and back? Or was it a Zen Buddhist who made a spiritual journey, and failed to bring back any rocks?

Give 'em a chance, they've just started. And if they are really smart they'll nick the pusher-plate design as they haven't signed-up to the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and could dominate the Solar System if they get their act together.

Funnily enough the Americans cocked-up with their German scientists as listening to the Nazi led them down the wrong path as they should have listened to the Russian Kybalchych(who ironically enough the Russians didn't listen to) and then the German Ganswindt(again ironically not listened to) but most ironically enough they ignored Ulam, Taylor and Dyson, whom if listened to would have had the USA around Jupiter by now. I can only think that the war-mongers wanted weapons in reality and the whole moon-shot was just an ego trip caused by the loss of face when the Soviets did pretty much all the space firsts.

The last two claims have well and truly been shot down on this forum bob. Best stick with the godbothering bit.

Aaaagth! Why are you so stupid? Spelling everything out to you is just tedious and energy-draining. Go and learn how to think, like a good boy.

Polish this up a bit and it could be included in a book called Non Campus Mentis. Here's a few excerpts:
Mists of Antiquity

"Civilisation woozed out of the Nile 300000 years ago. The Nile was a river that had some water in it. Every year it would flood and irritate the land. This tended to make the people nervous."

There was Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. Lower Egypt was actually farther up than Upper Egypt, which was, of course, lower down than the upper part. This is why we learn geography as a factor in history."

Rulers were entitled Faroes. A famed one was King Toot. It was a special custom among them not to marry their wives."

"Zorroastrologism was founded by Zorro. This was a duelist religion. The three gods were "Good," "Bad," and "Indifferent".

"Judyism was the first monolithic religion. It had one big God named Yahoo. Old Testament profits include Moses, Amy, and Confucius, who believed in Fidel Piety. (One of the only reasons Confucius was born was because of a Chinese tradition.)"

Please, all of my claims are divinely inspired, and as you know, I have submitted a plethora of credentials.

Your economic claims were well and truly destroyed upon this forum bob, as would be any economy who implemented them.

Your political views are the views of a false prophet for 'Satan' and the 'Beast' as you wish to turn our world over to 'them' to please your 'God' for your end-of-time battle. That and that you wish to be a drunk uninsured taxi-driver in a dangerous car.

About this 'divine inspiration'?

Would this be an agnostic divine inspiration or the divine inspiration of an absolute fool?

Unless you are a divinely inspired prophet, a theist and atheist have absolutely nothing to support their claim, while an agnostic makes no claim at all.

Anyone who believes that their country is the greatest in the world is brainless, or at least failing to use whatever brains they might have.

Who's doing the ranking? On what criteria is it being judged? Who cares?

Why are people sprouting such obvious bullshit on a philosophy forum??

So, no, the US is indeed not the "greatest country in the world", and neither is any other. There is no such thing. Just because Santa is coming doesn't mean we have to disappear completely into LaLa Land.
