The USA is still the greatest country in the world.

All civilized people know this. That's why so many people try to get into this country. We don't have PMs that suck and many countries count on the US for support. That's why good ole Winnie begged the US for its support in WW2 when Neville Chamberlain literally helped to start WW2 by giving away Czechoslovakia to the Nazis. That was smart of England.

The following is excerpted from a report printed by the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 1974:

"The activities of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler prior to and during World War II...are instructive. At that time, these three firms dominated motor vehicle production in both the United States and Germany. Due to its mass production capabilities, automobile manufacturing is one of the most crucial industries with respect to national defense. As a result, these firms retained the economic and political power to affect the shape of governmental relations both within and between these nations in a manner which maximized corporate global profits. In short, they were private governments unaccountable to the citizens of any country yet possessing tremendous influence over the course of war and peace in the world. The substantial contribution of these firms to the American war effort in terms of tanks, aircraft components, and other military equipment is widely acknowledged. Less well known are the simultaneous contributions of their foreign subsidiaries to the Axis Powers. In sum, they maximized profits by supplying both sides with the materiel needed to conduct the war."

I have no interest in Yank bashing and accept that in many ways the USA is a great country. However, its obsession with 'individual rights' is manipulated by rich and powerful individuals globally to the detriment of millions worldwide. Henry Ford demanded, and received, reparations for Allied bombing of his factories in Germany. That's just one example.
Sociopathic plutocrats are not unique to America, but the manner in which these nutters have persuaded enough of the population that the interests of billionaires are the same as those of people struggling to make ends meet, is unusual. If nothing else, the next four years might show that electing one of these sociopathic plutocrats is a bad idea.

Would bob be reacting the same way if the USA was at number 1 instead? No he would
not. For he would be using it as evidence that it was the greatest country in the world

I do not need mystical credentials to make a logical deduction about something which is actually true

Everyone knows the USA is No. 1 in the world and everybody else a bunch of pathetic wannabes. When any of these other countries land a man on the moon, let me know. I guess I was giving that veggy bitch the benefit of the doubt. No, actually I was being grammatically correct, but that's a linguistic danger with this crowd!

The man who designed the Saturn V rocket engines of Apollo 11 was Wernher von Braun who also designed the V2. Now America
would never have got to the moon in 1969 if it was not for him. They should have planted a German flag there to remember him

''The ranking is based on a variety of factors including wealth, economic growth, education, health, personal well-being, and quality of life. In the 2016 rankings, there were 149 countries ranked, and New Zealand topped the list, followed by Norway and Finland. In 2013, twenty-seven of the top 30 countries were democracies.
The 2016 Legatum Prosperity Index is based on 104 different variables analysed across 149 nations around the world. Source data includes Gallup World Poll, World Development Indicators, International Telecommunication Union, Fragile States Index, Worldwide Governance Indicators, Freedom House, World Health Organisation, World Values Survey, Amnesty International, Centre for Systemic Peace. The 104 variables are grouped into 9 sub-indexes, which are averaged using equal weights. The 9 sub-indexes are:

Economic Quality
Business Environment
Governance
Education
Health
Safety & Security
Personal Freedom
Social Capital
Natural Environment ''
