Pee porridge hot,
Pee porridge cold,
Pee porridge in the pot,
Nine days old.

Yeah, that sounds like you.

Just for that, bob, you can go straight to bed without any supper. And Teddy won't be coming with you either.

Shouldn't you give him some of that "Pee Porridge" that he keeps whining about?

We established a long time ago, Doc, that you don't even have an itsy-bitsy sense of humor!

I don't think so, I don't want him wetting the bed.

If that was supposed to be funny, then you have failed miserably. My sense of humor is much more subtle that your crude attempts.

Ouch. That's a bit like reading one of the Donald's tweets complaining about SNL mocking his hair.

Do you mean that dead animal he wears on his head? I think it is a legitimate subject of levity.

Porridge before bed as a comfort food?

Alf, have you seen Michael Moseley's Trust Me, I'm a Doctor? They did some tests and found that food eaten after around eight in the evening is processed differently to food eaten earlier, and not just due to the inactivity of sleep. The body's chemical processes differ depending on the time of day or night. The upshot is that late night calories contribute much more to weight gain than food eaten before around 8pm. Maybe keep your nightcap snack petite?

No I haven't seen it. His programs are usually good, I've seen a few but I don't have a tv set now so I don't see anything. I remember watching one where he swallowed some kind of parasitic worm's egg and let it grow to about 100 yards long before he got rid of it.

If you continue loading up on calories late at night then perhaps a parasitic worm could help with weight control?

I don't have a weight problem, thank you very much, Greta. If I had, though, I would find a less drastic remedy.

If you feel hungry when you go to bed that means that your body did not get enough nourishment during the day. And this is sad and this person should eat in order to fall asleep at all, I would say.

As for me I eat so much good stuff during the day that I can fast after 5 or 6 in the evening without feeling hungry.

I mean decent food, porriadge is a very good idea of food, I usually cook oates with boscop apples or with tomatoes and add chili and oil and vinegard for the taste.
Oates have the substance tryptophane which makes people happy so the comforting effect is there too and your spirits rise.
In a novel this effect was reported when a lady joined a community of a guru and was allowed to eat lots of pasta.

Food should make us happy and peaceful.
I heard that when you listen to jazz music you relax more and eat more slowly (and eat more too).

Food is a passion of my life, to skip a good meal when I need one is a personal little drama for me.
I admit it only here anonymously, in real life I find an excuse.
