It might be tolerable, I had a dog that rolled in a fresh one, and then tried to jump up on the bed of the truck with my wife. She just about gagged, I took the dog and dunked it in a stream to wash it off (not very gently, on purpose) and then took the dog home and went back to my wife and the other dog to watch a lunar eclipse. It was during the summer and warm weather.
