Playing with Ideas

Robert Saltzman is quoted as saying..

"We're here, we're aware, and something is happening around us''

Period, full stop.

Beyond that, everything is conjecture.

______

It made me realize that even my idea of Non-Duality, in this minimalist view, can be seen as just a conjecture.
I say to myself, "This table is in this room, is in this house, is in this city, is in this country, is on this planet, is in this star system and so on until I name existence itself - the final, singular, one thing that is all things.
But I don't know that it is so. I just reason myself to it.

Clearly, I don't know if there is meaning and purpose behind all this, or intelligence or benevolence. Or just the laws of physics; grinding way amid the endless vacuum.

And which ever way I turn such ideas - in the end, I have to admit that I don't know and I cannot know.

And that is not the same as saying, "there is no meaning and purpose". Because that supposes I know there is or isn't - and I cannot.
