This truth has been restated in words and action down through the history of Man by many wise men such as Diogene's teacher, Socrates and also Jesus and Buddha. This truth was originally affirmed in the story of Adam and Eve. Man's choice for freedom always stands before him as a choice between Having and Being.
, we can't afford to make such a choice anymore.
We don't 'have' anything, but as far as the
social farce is concerned, we have to pretend that we do...and that we care.
And without society and its vanities and formalities, no man can survive today.
