Could you surmise those lectures for those of us that don't have 9 hours to throw away?

Basically, these are lectures made by Manly P. Hall, who was himself a 33rd degree Freemason. In those lectures,he discussed esoteric and occult topics: Hermeticism, Freemasonry, Neoplatonism, Gnosticism, Esoteric Metaphysics, Kabbalah, you name it.

Anyway, I still believe that you should study his work, by either reading some of his books (his most famous one was The Secret Teachings of all Ages, or at least watching some, or one of his lectures. You have to develop some form of patience if you want to know exactly what people are talking about.

I'm sorry if you think that, Bill, even when you've probably never really got into his work.

I simply have learned about metaphysics and esotericism: the operations of it and how it can improve my life in a way to help see the world in a more extended view. My 'philosophy' hearkens to that with the ideas of interconnectedness and oneness with the world, and also improving oneself in a mental and spiritual way to overcome obstacles.

I could have written that. Tell me exactly what Manly Palmer Hall revealed that was soooo insightful.

His writings are a bunch of shit rolled-up and fed to individuals that are afraid to question his self-imposed authority.

His writings and his whole brand is a sham & is really an affront to real philosophers. Period.

PROVE TO ME I'M WRONG...again, for the THIRD time.

You're saying this as if I'm some sort of follower of MPH. I don't merely follow MPH, or anybody; I just like to hear some perspectives from him and others, but I rely really on myself for the exact explanations of things. What I've learned from him, though, are the esoteric aspects of things in religion, music, cosmology, medicine, politics, and philosophy. The 'insights', however, don't just come from Manly P. Hall; they come from the contemplation of life and/or whatever religious scripture or esoteric allegories, and is made sense of by intuition.

Now, explain to me, Bill, what part of Hall's philosophy is a sham? Have you read any of his books, or watched his lectures, to actually pick up on whatever he said or did was a sham?

It took me less than 150 seconds to see that he is FULL OF SHIT.

This was BEFORE I looked at his wiki page.

YOU brought this sham - this ASSHOLE up.

YOU defend your thread.

You're ON! - TAKE #4....................................Image

You use big words with very little to zero argumentative substances, and a whole lot of anger. Please tone it down. Second, if you're going to say that Manly P. Hall is 'full of shit', then bring up some good arguments against one of his points. All you're doing is begging the claim and getting all emotional over it.

That being said, let me give you a good summary about the points about Manly P. Hall.

* The first point in Manly P. Hall's teachings, which are common teachings in the occult, is the idea of a 'perfected' man. By 'perfected man', he and others are talking of a man, or collective humanity, that has reached an attainment of enlightenment from the process of taking the spiritual path of contemplating and meditating on whatever questions regarding existence that humans have.
* The second point is about gnosis, or knowledge. Knowledge, in a spiritual sense, requires a lot of patience, and a lot of dedication to whatever spiritual practice you chose to undertake. The 'gnosis' is more than knowledge within a dry rational, philosophical inquiry; it is more about the experiencing of life that is contained within the gnosis, as 'what life is' is much more intricate than simply learning about the mechanics of life, which is the opposite of 'spiritual'.
* The third point that Hall discourses on a bit are the historical aspects of the occult. Examples include, Rosicrucians, Freemasons, the founding of the United States, Theosophy, New Age, etc. Like many other spiritual teachers (H.P. Blavatsky, Alice Bailey, Aleister Crowley, etc.), Manly P. Hall talks of the coming of a global 'new age'. Many people can interpret it in a more negative connotation, considering the mass amounts of violence with U.S. foreign policy, and things beyond that such as the globalization of the economy, and the creation of organizations like Bilderberg, Council on Foreign Relations, United Nations, and many other organizations run by the rich elites of the world.
