Calling all presocratic philosophers!

Post by sjeff70 »

I'm interested in learning about ancient Greek literature, particulary Homer. I require philosophical analysis since this was how literature from this period was originally intended. I keep coming back to the following 3 sources:

The Life of Greece: The Story of Civilization, Volume II (Durant)
A History of Philosophy, Vol. 1: Greece and Rome From the Pre-Socratics to Plotinus (Copelston)
The Presocratic Philosophers: A Critical History with a Selection of Texts (Kirk)

Durant is highly accessible and Kirk (appears non-accessible) may help reading Copelston.
