Why do you always have to put a . at the top and bottom of your posts to take up more space than a lousy picture or quote deserves???

Whenever I make an important post or share an important image I bracket or frame the event.

...I understand why you never would frame one of your posts...

This particular thread just may be the most important philosophical thread since the metaphysical thread What's Stopping Us From Seeing the Truth?

A 5" long picture needs a 15" long frame, huh? That's more air than you've got in your head!

I'd estimate that's a 5-1/8" long picture that needs a 15" long frame.

I think Bob is right.
I find all your spaces annoying.

See how much neater it is now that I have deleted the spare lines?

I actually have a philosophical reason for the thread title and the associated original image that I used.

Although I know that my original intent of this thread cannot possibly be more important than the discussion of the size of frame space that I use, I feel the need to share.

As I am typing now I understand that this is just not a good way to begin, what I feel, may be my most important thread of the entire year as far as content.

So here goes...and, I'm just not that optimistic.

I call it The Match

.....................................Image

Yesterday, I viewed The Match that is going to blow the powder keg, that is America, to smithereens.

I am saddened, strangely sadden, by what I foresee in our immediate future.

My concentration is, I'm on the side that is supposed to feel relieved by the eventual outcome of this oncoming explosion.

And I'm just not that optimistic.

Let me explain and perhaps you will help me on how, or better, what to feel...

Obviously, through the video, we see a group of Phoenix Occupy Wall Street people. Along one side of the group we see a line of policemen. Between the Occupy Wall Street people and the police is an even smaller line of U.S. Border Guard representatives.

What you don't see yet in the video is someone throwing something from the policemen or into the policemen. That will come...

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, we will have guns drawn.

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, people are going to get shot.

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, a formally peaceful demonstration will turn into a violent bloodbath.

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, it's on.

Every whacko-gun-owning-nutcase-who fears big government is going to openly arm themselves throughout this country and will be drawn to The Movement.

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, they will have us where they want us.

Blowing each others heads off...and it will all be on video.

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, the 1% will be peacefully watching us, secure and entertained as the active 5% of any movement destroys itself...

And when that happens, and it will happen in the video, you and I have to determine how, or better, what to feel...

And I'm just not that optimistic.

OKay, that's it.

If you made it this far, and you actually read this entire post, I thank you.

Now, this is the part where you attack me, intelligently discuss the size of the frame space I use and in general, underscore the meaning of this entire thread.

No, its the part why we think you didn't just post this last one first? Rather than tossing about with ambiguous photoshop images. Which are obviously beginning to annoy some members, not least because you can't frame them properly.

With respect to your 'apocalypse', why do you think we ban guns over here.

Not sure which band of 'gun happy nuts' you're talking about? As the ones I talk to think they should be shooting the occupiers anyway. What makes you think the police won't just use rubber bullets, batons, riot-shields and tear-gas?

Do you think that the U.S. Border Patrol representatives are using rubber bullets?

If someone were to point a gun towards your head would you automatically assume that they would be using rubber bullets?

Do you think that rubber bullets cannot kill someone?

For those of you who can't figure out the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment "right to bear arms," I am here to tell you that the reason for this amendment is to provide citizens with the ultimate defense against an oppressive government (which we learned from our experience with the British), but Europe and the rest of the Neanderthal world are simply too dense to understand.

Personally most things the US does amazes me, for instance, what are the U.S.Border Patrol doing there? Why would they have a role in this?

Baton rounds are fired from great big tubes, so I'd know which type was being aimed at me. Did you mean actual 'plastic' bullets like the Israelis use? Do the US police force use those as well?

If someone pointed a gun at me I'd pretty much comply if I thought they meant it.

I think baton rounds can but don't in general, they just leave bloody great bruises and broken bits.
