Robotics, AI, and Politics

Post by Systematic »

Politics in the United States seems to have an unhealthy assumption. Apparently we all need a job—maybe two.

But robotic labor and AI are becoming cheaper and more efficient than human labor. In some cases they already are.

I propose that we embrace this change rather than fear it or try to ignore it.

First, I see a need for socialism. The main problem with socialism is that we needed people to have incentives to work. Now, for the first time in human history, we can delegate almost all work to machines. We need to eliminate the threat of starving and poverty when machines take jobs.

Second, I see a need for the masses to have more influence over industry. If someone has an idea that will benefit us all, then I think that they should have the influence they need to get it accomplished. We don't need their hands anymore; instead, we need their imaginations.
