Yeah...OKay. Now I think I understand...

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

What's your point, idiot, or is that too much to ask? And please answer with actual words that come out of your brain (for lack of a better term) and not some pasted bullshit that you are so adept at posting. Thanks.

Bill, I think your post is a clever and pithy statement of the confused theology of a well-known religion. You can expect some people to be insulted by it. But such people may still find comfort in the old excuse that God is mysterious and works in mysterious ways.

I don't think God condemned us to anything until we did something wrong.

God loves us unconditionally...

...under a few conditions.

Hi Wootah,

Nice to see you back. Missed your posts. How's the relationship going? I hope well. I figured that is why we didn't see much of you anymore.

I think what Bill is getting at is, if God knows everything (since he created everything) then he knew that we would "do wrong." So then 'creating us in order to condemn us' is the same thing if God is omnipotent.. And if it isn't the same thing and we actually have a free will that is independent of his knowledge, then he isn't an all knowing God and his omnipotence is limited.

There may well be "mysterious" God as Mike suggested (Hi mike, missed you too) but that still doesn't mean that we are right to lie and tell others to believe what we think about God. Since none of us can say we are right or wrong without a shadow of a doubt even if God works in 'mysterious" ways. We can only honestly say that we believe. We are dishonest when we say we know. And I think that in a nutshell is why atheists dislike theists and shun religion. It is the hypocrisy of lying by saying "There IS a God" Instead of saying, "I believe there is a God" And at the same time believe that we keep the 10 commandments one of which says, "Thou shall not lie."

Nice for me, as well, to see Wootah and artisticsolution again!

Admitting belief rather than certainty or sure knowledge is, in my opinion, a step in the right direction. It may temper any tendency I have to be too pushy towards others about my "knowledge".

Hope this isn't too badly worded: If God is, then God is Who God is, despite what humanity may say God is.

And here's another thought from someone else, from a movie, "The Invitation"

"God is talking to Himself and He is pretending to be us."
