Re: The Point of philosophy
You say we are not exclusively the consciousness, Walker, though interdependent. What is the exception?

Yeah, my service is out as well, and Customer support ain't answering. Fuckers.... They told me that the fibre optic upgrade would increase the universal consciousness bandwidth.henry quirk wrote:Tried accessing the universal consciousness this morning...got a 'service not available in your area' message...guess I'm stuck with what I can cobble together on my own.

Which universal consciousness browser do you use, Henry? I'm still trying to decide on Xenu Explorer, or Rand Navigator.

Perhaps I should switch. Opera only shows singing Viking women, Xenu Explorer is plagued by thetans, and Rand Navigator won't share information at all.henry quirk wrote:Mostly Safari...good for huntin' lions and elephants and such...mebbe not so good for gettin' the universal mind.

You'll need more than a veterinarian if you meet one of these sand worms, more like a couple of hooks.Dalek Prime wrote:No worries. I'll see a veterinarian if I run into any.thedoc wrote:But you need to watch out for the worms.Dalek Prime wrote: Hey, it works! The spice really flows!

Well, I was going to feed the spice worm 'de-Daleking' pills. It wasn't for me.

Four pages in and I have yet to see anyone attempt to answer the title.
Re: The Point of philosophy
Philosophy has several uses. One is to aid clear thinking and decision making especially in such spcialitues as law, medical ethics, or politics. Another use is analysing and explaining special human quests such as history, religion, science, expressive arts, and law. Another use for philosophy is help in changing perspectives with a view to making sense of life and being.
Re: The Point of philosophy
That would be fair criticism if it weren't for that fact that you haven't attempted it either.fivedeadapples wrote:Four pages in and I have yet to see anyone attempt to answer the title.
