The 2005 movie was a critical and commercial success, but only to those who had not seen or read the earlier versions. was a compilation of the 1981 TV series. I had it on video and watched it several times. It was much better than the 2005 movie.

They went directly from Magrathea to the Restaurant at the end of the Universe without any mention of the Vogon attack or the chamber that showed the individual in relation to the Universe.
