Re: safety v. compliance

In light of all the success governments have been throughout history, do you really believe there is a problem that can only be solved by a government telling people what to do? Forgive me if I find this question naive to the point of being semi-insulting, even though I'm sure you didn't mean it th...

Re: Man Brain?

There are far greater differences between individual brains than there are between male and female brains. In a way, much of the data is missing since females were usually relegated to an inferior status in Patriarchal societies. As someone once said - forgot who it was - but only half the human bra...

Re: safety v. compliance

Also, to say that the vaccine has killed a fair number of people is misleading. It presupposes upon having received the covid shot and by happenstance that person died shortly after, the vaccine must be responsible, whereas there may be a whole number of reasons why that person died. How strange. W...

Re: safety v. compliance

No idea what you're talking about or how it relates to what I wrote which isn't any philosophy just an observation...so go away! How it relates to what you wrote is that you are getting too involed with the details. You are doing the same thing the edgy idiots did in the early months of the pandemi...

Re: safety v. compliance

It's a matter of credence. The credence given to the vaccine not killing you is many times higher than that given to covid not killing you. Simple enough! Also, to say that the vaccine has killed a fair number of people is misleading. It presupposes upon having received the covid shot and by happen...

Re: Being Anti-God

What will be, will be is so foundational, so mundane it's applicable to anything regarding any future event even those who are certain to know what's going to happen 5000 years from now or what happens after death. It's a phrase which can express both certainty as rendered by a theist or one summar...

A world without plumbers, builders, chefs, surgeons, geniuses...... If us guys wouldn't be around, it's obviously the gals who are forced to fill that gap, which to a great extent they already have. Remember Josephine the plumber and all the great looking female doctors arguing with Dr. House? True...

Re: Mind is immortal II

...as immortal as a live chicken hanging upside down in a Chinese meat market about to meet its fate! Am I wrong in assuming that Mind is immortal I failed to produce results? As a rhetorical question; it avoids people from having to lie!

Re: Religion is Man- Made

When it comes to suicide, euthanasia, call it what you will, each person is unconditionally in charge of their own life. Since one never asked to be born or sign a contract, ownership of that life is complete and so is any decision regarding its fate making any moralistic, religious or legal debate ...

Re: Religion is Man- Made

Oh, my, there are so many. These immediately come to mind: Oh my ,oh my...you are barking up the wrong tree of life...coming up with ways to make killing yourself as painless as possible.. is not the point of this disccusion ..this discussion has nothing to do with the insane act of deliberate suic...

Re: Religion is Man- Made

When has anyone ever come up with a meaning which means anything? It's the tussle we love...it's meaningful to us all. Four wins. why search for meaning never to be known meaning has no meaning unless it's shown. And yet here we are, squabblin' over the subject: lookin' for meaning . And: that's fi...

Re: Religion is Man- Made

The average schmo usually knows what he wants and that has meaning for him I imagine there was some thinkin' on that meaning , and that there is an on-goin' interest in that meaning . I win. What has meaning for the average schmo as you call him are the usual material things in life and how to get ...

Re: Religion is Man- Made

This place and places like it exist because it's fun. Sure. We love to tussle...about and over philosophies ...not sports, not celebs, not cars... philosophies which are nuthin' but meanings . I double-win. When has anyone ever come up with a meaning which means anything? If you don't know ask your...
