Re: Humans are fundamentally evil

Life requires that you kill and eat other living things. Life itself is fundamentally brutish and thus so are we. However, life also has an easygoing, amenable side to it when it's not killing and competing, and thus so do we. Here I disagree. If humans are given an alternative (e.g. laboratory mea...

Are any women brutish?

Don't recall reading about women being brutish in history, Not even about other species (cavemen are hunters while the women stayed home).

Other animals I recall did have brutish females, but not humans.

I don't disagree with the existing definition. I'm saying let's give it a new definition so it no longer applies to us.
Are you evil under the current definition?

Re: Humans are fundamentally evil

This sounds like Thomas Hobbes all over again where Hobbes describes mankind in the state of nature as being "brutish." (more exactly historically it comes up as Lockes vs Hobbes) so I'm not gaining anything from this thread.

My OP implies that the wavelength is the same, DP, for both observers.

Then it doesn't matter. It's measurable.

God is usually defined as omnibenevolent which would therefore make him incapable of evil
What definition would be all encompassing for God? Since when does God need a definition? I don't think any definition can substitute for God.

Can God do evil?

Seems to me if anyone can do evil, then He would most likely do so due to Biblical stories and His qualifications.

Do you agree?

Does it matter?

Say we look at an object and I see yellow and you see orange. Let's say we look at that same object later and this time I see orange and you see yellow. To me what matters isn't the actual color of the object, but enough information which allows me (and you) to identify that object (why the object h...

What is your favorite cooking recipe?

What do you like your meal to consist of and how do you like it prepared? For me it would be a nice thick juicy steak, medium rare, smothered with mushrooms and some ketchup, a buttered baked potato, buttered corn and lobster bisque soup.

And you?
