Re: Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

Re: Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

What the USA needs is financial healing. Is there anyone willing to tackle this monumental problem? If so, that is who I would vote for. America was once a grand country, it is collapsing before our eyes. Can anyone save "her". There is no "grand country" and there has never bee...

Re: Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

The country is in such dire straits, whoever is chosen, Romney or Obama will not have any impact at all. I would vote Obama. One problem is that the Democrats and Republicans are just branches of the same party: The Big Government Party, where the Democrats lean toward more personal freedom, but le...

Re: Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

well, rationally , you could also think like this that there is this tradition, and a lot of people seems to be following it, and I have no obvious reason not to do it besides saving a couple of hours (and human beings aren't especially good at focusing their energy as we waste a lot of it, just lo...

Re: Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

it's a bit like the Cold War. Nobody dares take down their arms (political influence in voting-situation) in fear of the other not being quite so willing to do so. So it's simply a question of: if I don't vote, there's a possibility that we get the worst of the already ill collection of candidates....

Maybe I'm Wrong, But Why Should Anybody Vote???

I can only think of one good reason, but it's got nothing to do with candidates or elections.

The Ouzo Cross

Let me ask you one simple question: other than a prophet, who could have possibly come up with the Ouzo Cross (please see http://church-of-ouzo.com/pdf/ouzo-prophecy.pdf)?

Politicians Pander to a Gullible American Public

These idiots say America needs to be energy independent, whatever the fuck that means. They have no conception of economics at any level. Why not be rare earth independent or diamond independent or coffee independent? Unfortunately, these morons will never come close to studying economics in any way...

Re: A new superpower

Chaz says, "We have a far more thorough democracy with member states wielding proper sovereign power, unlike the states in the US which are no more than puppets of Washington."

At least we don't have a goddamn fairy-tale queen who bleeds us dry, you moron!

Re: CIA demands drones despite 80% civilian death rate

I use "Yank" to refer to a certain type of American who cries anti-Americanism at any critique or questioning of American foreign policy and appears to think themselves morally unimpeachable just because they are American. There you go again, making up your own words and meanings. In case...

Every Sin Is The Result Of A Collaboration

"Every sin is the result of a collaboration," from the short story, "The Blue Hotel," (see http://etext.virginia.edu/toc/modeng/public/CraBlue.html ) by Stephen Crane (1871-1900), the author of the classic novel, The Red Badge of Courage , is an apt description of "The evil...

How about the Pied Piper of Greece leading all the lemmings into the sea, and Europe becoming the lost continent of Atlantis?
