Re: No Humans = No Human-based Reality
Why? because all philosophical issues are reducible to realism[p] vs antirealism. Realism is an evolutionary default thus they are the majority, while antirealism [Kantian and others] are the later more 'advanced' philosophical thoughts. Here's a critical observation; The majority of Anglo-American...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
2 + 2 = 4 is only mathematically true, i.e. contingent within the rules and axioms of mathematics. It is not real in the real-sense, i.e. of which scientific reality is the most credible and objective. Demonstrate to me empirically 2 + 4 = 4 is absolutely true regardless of conditions and humans. I...

Re: No Humans = No Human-based Reality
I should have added to the above "truism." No Humans = No absolutely human-based independent Reality out there. but there is a lot of nuances to it to be deliberated philosophically; Some people on this site think that "the stuff out there" is reality. You, on the other hand, th...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Right! Good lad. You've figured it out. Don't be an ass. That means that one thing we know for certain is that the universe is the product of some Cause which itself was not caused by anything. That's what we call "the First Cause," with capital letters, because there cannot have been any...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
You say that's "clear." I know of nobody but you who thinks that. So I think I'm justified in asking you what you think makes that "clear" to you. But the sequence of cause and effect that we now observe on every side had to have a starting point, too. The way that we understand...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
We don't have any pre-BB observations so we don't know which mathematical equations are applicable before the BB. We don't need any. You're trying to make a demand for us to introduce a necessity for empirical information into an argument that proves conclusively that the very theory of an actual i...

Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Mathematics is used to model the real world. We make observations and we find math equations which fit those observations. We don't have any pre-BB observations so we don't know which mathematical equations are applicable before the BB. We cannot just assume that general mathematics applies. We know...

Re: If Satan exists, it is Allah
Christ seems to have made it pretty clear that war and strife are not options we have in order to follow him. 34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mo...

Re: If Satan exists, it is Allah
Again, I don't know. If there is a God, then maybe I don't have a choice which God is the 'true' one. If there isn't a God, then I would just hope that there can be peace in some way shape or form. I mean, maybe there isn't a God or maybe God is one that isn't worth worshiping. I couldn't tell you....

Re: If Satan exists, it is Allah
I don't know. If there is a God, and it was Jesus and Jesus commanded us to turn the other cheek, then I assume it wasn't a good thing. If there isn't a God and Jesus commanded us to turn the other cheek, then it could be either, I suppose. I'm agnostic, just to be clear, so it's difficult for me t...

If you look around, there is more peace than war. There is more reconciliation than conflict.

Re: If Satan exists, it is Allah
The only reason you are not a Muslim now, is because Christians have fought back.It looks like an instruction to kill us, yes. Should we kill them back or should we give the other cheek and seek peace?
In hindsight, was that a good thing or a bad thing?

I don't see the logic in that.
Why shouldn't people have differences?
