Re: An argument for the existence of God

Atto, I once worked with an interesting astronomer and lab director with whom I shared an occasional after-work beer/martini. After a few drinks he would show his true colors as a punster. Were he alive today I'd put the two of you in touch, but alas, too many martinis did away with him long ago. V...

Re: An omniscient God cannot think.

Even in the Genesis it's written that he didn't have such powers. "Adam where art Thou? I am hiding Oh Lord. Why art Thou hiding Adam?" ..clearly proving that God didn't have any omni' powers. Although i see your point, this is by no means proving anything. Keeping a secret about your kno...

Re: Digital Philosophy

Attofishpi --- what do you think to my idea that there is an inherent limit to the complexity of a computational entity, and that the human brain has hit it? Hi Duncan Im certain i am not qualified to answer this one, but as a layman i would agree that there is a limit, but would have to disagree t...

Re: An argument for the existence of God

Mr Ell Thankyou for taking the time to appreciate my website http://www.androcies.com . It was indeed an online art project (Beyond Reasonable Doubt) that i created as part of the Adelaide Fringe in 2012. After much dealings with 'God' and an invisible sage as mentioned at the beginning of this thre...

Re: How Did He Do That?

A textual clue appears in 5.02: “For I recognize the meaning of the sign… from the index.” We can thus gather that our indexes have something to do with a sign, and the meaning of the sign can be recognized from the index.

He knows (nose)?

Re: An omniscient God cannot think.

Perhaps thinking is something good enough for humans but not good enough for God ? Thinking means trying to find a solution to a problem and God already knows the solution. So God can only ponder on what he knows. And all of it at the same time. But this activity is not what we mean when we use the...

Re: Digital Philosophy

Moreso (3) i think. but you told Henry Quirk you thought this unlikely to have happened yet? I read the article some years back, i even emailed the poor chap...never received a reply. I havent read the article again, but i think it was the same one. I was a little puzzled that he had not suggested ...

Re: An omniscient God cannot think.

I guess you are both physically and mentally without a leg to stand on then. You assert that you have written a book that nobody on a philosophy forum has the intelligence to comprehend. With relation to death and there being a 'heaven', as i have stated on a thread two or three down from this one, ...

Re: An omniscient God cannot think.

My Creator-concept is entirely different from yours, and from everyone else's. What it lacks in agreement base it makes up for in simplicity, clarity, integration with every known physics principle, and its consistency with all scientific and empirical observations of reality. It provides a theoret...

Re: An omniscient God cannot think.

So am i accurate in stating that those that are ascribing an omniscience that was never ascribed to God via scripture...in that God was never declared to know ALL of the future, are in fact wrong? Atto, If I interpret your question properly, yep, they're all wrong. If you'll peruse the Torah/Old Te...

Hello Henry, Its as unlikely as the technological singularity having already occurred. So you choose (1) from Bostrum's argument then? http://www.simulation-argument.com/simulation.html Moreso (3) i think. I read the article some years back, i even emailed the poor chap...never received a reply. I ...
