Re: Verbal abuse and cyber-bullying on Philosophy Now forums

I haven´t attended an anthroposophic school either (they are called Waldorf-Schulen in Germany) but anyone can try their ideas or something that might resemble their ideas in one´s leasure time. When I listen to classical music on the radio I move like in a modern ballet. I experiment with ways of r...

Re: Freedom

I know some women who inherited money so they could be called ladies of independent means.
And yet they lack social skills in such a high degree that I would not change places with them.
They seem very unfree to me, very inhibited in their ways and choices.

How can it be ?

Re: What does a good relationship need?

Empathy means that you are a mind-reader and body language reader so that you don´t get on the other person´s nerves unintentionally.

Chemistry means that you enjoy the mere presence of your mate and derive energy from it.

Re: Do you care about style ?

How about this element of style: Many men have the habit of repeating a word many times before they proceed with their utterance. It sounds like a disk that stopped turning and needs a push. What is it good for ? One idea: they will not let anyone say anything in between, they pretend that they are ...

Re: Do you care about style ?

It makes a difference whether someone speaks fast and swallows some sounds on the way or speaks in a celebrating way, slowly and joyously.

Re: Do you care about style ?

This was visual style, which most people focus on.

But how about the vocal style ?
Does the tone of your voice have a style ?

Re: He who cannot lie does not know what the truth is. (Thus Spoke Zarathustra) What?

I would correct the statement and say: He who does not know what a lie is does not know what truth is. He who cannot lie himself but is able to recognize the lies of other people knows what truth is. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Some people are not good at lying no matter how hard they try. They a...

Re: Women Protect Men Too Much

Who does not need protection ?

People who are resilient, who can endure hardships.

If women protect men they prevent them from becoming strong and turn them into wimps.

Re: Do you care about style ?

I should note I got down to neighing but a pair of ripped up shorts for my clothing in Hawaii. Wasn't for very long, but was literally all I had for a while in terms of possessions. Wasn't interested in style then. Walking around naked is also a style, I would say. Nudists practice it for a reason.

Re: Do you care about style ?

Bob Evenson: There is no subject in literature, only style. is the essence of your quote, for which I thank you. This view strikes me as somewhat extreme. From an opposing view one might say: The subject of an adulterous wife was treated in a different style by Flaubert, Tolstoy, Fontane and many ot...

Re: Women Protect Men Too Much

A rooster sits on eggs. My friend (who keeps him and two hens) is surprised and makes hilarious remarks: "What are you doing, George ? Are you confused about your sexuality ?" etc. An animal choses to perform a typically female task. Is he particularly manly because he does not care about the public...

Re: Women Protect Men Too Much

An idea: a manly man may not want to be a tough guy all the time. He might want to play some completely different roles. It is possible to switch roles if we change the circumstances and the people around us. Perhaps that´s why some men escape a critical wife and try to play a different role in a ba...

Re: Women Protect Men Too Much

An option:

men and women are buddies and build each other up in support groups,

or men and women coach each other if needs be.

Sounds boring ?

Re: Is imagination a sign of intelligence?

Writers of fiction imagine chains of events.

Liers also imagine chains of events.

If these chains of events are convincing then the minds which concieved them are creative and intelligent.
