Re: Is morality objective or subjective?
Morality is subjective, as all meaning is. It is considered objective when biological consciousness creates extensions of those sentiments in the outside world in the form of churches and the institutes of law/rules, besides establishing common modes of behavior which are acceptable or not acceptabl...

Re: generational inequality
A ripple on the pond of the generations, I never promised you a rose garden--lol I think you mean societal inequality, for there is only inequality with comparison. There is in society a kind of family factory system, and the fortunate or unfortunate tend to produce more well-adapted offspring or co...

Re: How do we realize something to be beautiful or ugly?
We determine what is ugly through our degree of attraction and repugnance, but the cause of those reactions is the state of the constitution of the given subject to its ideal specimen of its given species. We have a constitution before we are born, and this determines among other traits our outer ph...

Re: The true left is not woke
Tell me your theory on how this workerism through process came to be, it seems particular to the west, much of the world is laughing their asses off. How does such chaos as multi-genderism and victimhood come about if not what I feel I watched develop? The height of militant feminism and it anti-ma...

Re: moral relativism
I black box the issue. Determinism makes more sense to me, but I can rule free will out completely. I don't know how it would work or how causes would be removed somehow, but I don't feel like any deduction can completely rule out some ontological make-up that is beyond my understanding. Belinda se...

Re: Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
Any women that wants to abort the foetus impregnated in her by some r_ape should have the right to (stamp the fuck out of that life form  ) To not allow the women the right to abort the product of a rape, simply encourages the further raping of women. The woman/women are then violated twic...

Re: moral relativism
Perhaps I've misread you, but yes, in order to believe in free will one has to believe in the simplicity of biology, earth and the cosmos, but you don't seem to have a stance. So, I am a little puzzled. I black box the issue. Determinism makes more sense to me, but I can rule free will out complete...

Re: moral relativism
Well, one way to provide a basis for dialogue is, when asked, to explain what you mean. So what did you mean by Did you have some kind of objection to what I said to Belinda? What in my post make you think I was claiming self-control or showed it? It seems critical of me, but I'm not sure if it was...

I'm not sure what you mean by.... Then you have nothing to add to the topic? It is a mystery, I am alright with that, just not much of a base for dialogue. Well, one way to provide a basis for dialogue is, when asked, to explain what you mean. So what did you mean by Nice with all the history of th...

Re: moral relativism
It's lovely to have a determinist hoping young people will have more flexible minds. Does your definition Iwannaplato, embrace happenstance as part of determination? Nice with all the history of the cosmos behind us, that you feel such self-control. Happenstance in terms of stuff that we didn't rea...

Re: What are the Noblest human endeavors?
Suffering is part of nature. TO eliminate suffering would have to include eliminating nature itself. We can alleviate some suffering by caring for our livestock and killing them humanely; providing them shelter, and veterinary care. Yes, suffering is part of life, life is suffering among other thin...

Re: moral relativism
Several posters have tried to explain matters to those here who are indoctrinated as to Free Will but have not succeeded. However, I guess most here are elderly; one hopes the young have more flexible minds. It's lovely to have a determinist hoping young people will have more flexible minds. Does y...

Re: What are the Noblest human endeavors?
What are the Noblest human endeavors? The intentional relief of suffering or the minimization thereof of all living creatures. Nature cares not for the suffering of life, only life itself has that capacity. Suffering is part of nature. TO eliminate suffering would have to include eliminating nature...
