Re: Shopping surprise

Shocking surprise. I used to go to the self-torture chambers in my country. It was specially designed and built on the donation by a prominent businessman for lonesome masochists. You know, the type with way below the minimal required social skills to get along with other humans. One day I walked in...

Re: Self-centeredness

I keep my self-centredness exciting by by rerouting any subject to become a comparative expression of myself.

There is never any shortage of new and novel ways of approaching the fascinating subject matter of me for me.

Re: Which is better: social media or forums?

In terms of discussion or information. PhilX Forums are specialized, and there are always at least a couple of experts participating who are and are eager to be helpful. Social media is full of hockey-wives who form the lowest level of humanity's common denominator. Beyond exchanging cat pics with ...

Re: Infinity has gotten stranger

In these respects, what we understand of sets (although I do not believe set theory equates the set to "1" in itself) is in fact a duality conducive to two. All I'm saying is that a set is regarded as a single entity; yet it is identical to a collection of many entities. In that sense a set is a du...

JohnDoe, getting a Ph.D. is easy, compared to how hard it is to get a job with it. The competition is fierce, and only half of Ph.D.s have a pH level job. If you don't have the right connections, forget it. Your time to get a Ph.D. in order to get a high paying job is better spent looking for stamps...

Re: Is diabetes curable?

To me curable means it's never coming back. I don't believe it's curable. Many stories imply it is. What do you think? PhilX 🇺🇸 I think we should vote on it. Hold a referendum. Then we must hold diabetes to it: "We voted you curable / not curable. (As the case might be.) Now get with the program, d...

Origin of big bang revisited "Why or How The Big Bang"

I have a theory (who doesn't?) which may or may not be unique, and at this point it is less than a theory as there is very little supporting evidence, and very little in a way of explaining of how this works. But it is an idea I wish to bounce off of the physics-minded people here. The problem of th...

Re: Last minute tweaks

Math indicates that in the sub-atomic Quantum world these things happen regularly, and some of the laws that apply to quantum world can be verbalized as follows: 1. A particle does not need to travel through the space between A and B, but can get there instantaneously. 2. The smaller the space, the ...

(It's Will, by the way.) ....partway... I am in the process of revamping, I learned several things, and got reassured in several things by reading the post. 1. There is a Will. 2. There is a partway. 3. If there is a Will, then there is a partway. 4. Will likes vamps. 5. That might be vampires, wan...

Brits, Aussies, SoAfs, and Engs, Picts and Londoners also had horrible times understanding me. I lost a teaching job once in at a college partly because some English-born students complained to the administration that they could not understand a single word in my lectures. I was easily fired as I wa...

Re: Dreams

the movie needed subtitles because I struggle to translate Americanese into English at the best of times, let alone when Ton Hanks is speaking an odd post-English pidgin later in the film. Subtitles are always available on DVD movies and on TV shows. Turn on the menu, select "subtitles" and select ...

Re: Last minute tweaks

The terms "empty" and "space" also implies that space acts simultaneously as a boundary as empty implies a deficiency. Absolutely. It is a mental and emotional as well as moral deficiency of space to not contain anything but itself. Very selfish, inwardly-turning. Empty space must be punished, and ...

1/ "Space can be empty." 2/ "Not of EM and gravitational fields, as far as we know." 2 is true. I just don't consider EM and GF stuff. They can't be eaten, they can't be thrown. They can't be rubbed. They are something, but not stuff. Stuff is something you can stuff plush toys with: Electrons, prot...

The only thing that is staggering is the degree of your arrogance where your intelligence is extremely lacking. You timewasting plonker. I am not going to sit as a judge, not even pretend I could be one, or that I deserve to be one. I am going to simply state my personal opinion. My opinion is, aft...

How very emotional of you. And wrong. Again. I am ready to admit my response was emotional. But not that I was wrong. You, Marjoram-Blues, are just one more additional player on this forum who is in love with a special ideology. Like other, similar loves, your love is founded upon emotional ties, n...
